About MenuWise

How we build the product

• MenuWise uses real, verified restaurant menu information. We do not rely on generic nutritional databases or AI-generated guesses about what a dish contains.
• Selected allergens (FDA Big 9) apply hard-elimination scoring: items containing the allergen are removed entirely, not flagged for the user to override.
• Nutritional values are presented as honest ranges ("~850 kcal") rather than false-precise numbers.
• Dietary profiles live on-device by default. We do not sell user data or share dietary information with restaurants or advertisers.

Editorial standards

The MenuWise blog publishes field notes on gluten-free, allergy, and dietary topics. We hold every post to the same standards:

• Every numeric or factual claim cites a primary source (FDA, NIH, USDA, NEJM, peer-reviewed journals, established advocacy organizations) with a clickable link in the Sources list at the bottom of each post.
• Health and safety claims are hedged when the answer depends on individual diagnosis, kitchen practice, or product formulation. We do not claim 100% certainty on dietary safety.
• Every post carries a medical disclaimer recommending consultation with a qualified healthcare professional for individual decisions.
• Posts use the "MenuWise Team" byline. When we make a factual error, we correct the post inline and the change is recorded in our git history.
• We do not name individual MenuWise team members on the public site for privacy reasons. Editorial inquiries go to a shared inbox.

Corrections + contact

If you find a factual error in any post, email getmenuwise@gmail.com with the URL and the issue. We fix and date-stamp corrections. Press inquiries, partnerships, and general questions go to the same address.
